Spy Magazine was the epitome of bitchery in the eighties and specialized in the demeaning of famous people with a short, withering soubriquet: they came up with “short-fingered vulgarian” to belittle Donald Trump, Nancy Reagan was a “pinch-faced, talentless doxy”, and, getting to the point, they called Marlo Thomas a “nose-flesh amputee”.
